The Collège de l'immobilier is proud to share the success rates of its students on their "1st time" at the OACIQ exam between January 1 and June 30, 2014.

The success rates, by specialization offered by the Collège, are:
- Residential Real Estate Brokerage: 70% of success vs the provincial average of 67%;
- Commercial Real Estate Brokerage: 68% of success, only our Collège presented candidates;
- Mortgage Brokerage: 84% of success vs the provincial average of 84%.

The Collège de l'immobilier du Québec adapts its programs to fit the market's requirements on a regular basis.

The Collège offers three real estate training programs in residential and commercial real estate and mortgage brokering, that are unique and exclusive. The training is available in Nun's Island, Laval, Brossard and in virtual classes. The training is offered in 4 months and more (Residential Real Estate Brokerage).

As of September 1, 2013, any candidate wishing to take the OACIQ certification exam must have previously taken and passed a basic training program recognized by the OACIQ.


TRAINING

The Residential Real Estate Brokerage training help students master all of the career specific skills they need for a successful career in real estate brokerage, and take the OACIQ exam.

Students in the Real Estate Broker Program become specialists in real estate operations relating to residential properties. They interact with individuals.

Our comprehensive credited programs enable students to become professionals capable of:

  • Completing all of work steps implicated in real estate brokerage activities;
  • Acting ethically and providing advice according to generally accepted practices;
  • Successfully managing their own business;

RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE PROGRAM

The Real Estate Broker Program consists of 360 hours of courses and leads to a diploma issued by the Collège de l'Immobilier. Students can complete the Residential Real Estate Brokerage Program on campus, through distance learning (in French only) or through virtual classes, in either English or French.

The Program provides students with:

  • The basic training needed to successfully complete the examination given by the Organisme d’autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ);
  • The skills that will become a competitive advantage for their career.

The Residential Real Estate Brokerage Program consists of the following 10 courses:

  • Career Analysis and Business Management (45 hours);
  • Real Estate Law I (45 hours);
  • Real Estate Law II (30 hours);
  • Real Estate Appraisal I  (30 hours);
  • Real Estate Appraisal II (30 hours);
  • Real Estate Mathematics (45 hours);
  • Real Estate Brokerage Act (36 hours);
  • Drafting of Contracts and Documents (75 hours);
  • Synthesis Workshop I (12 hours);
  • Synthesis Workshop II (12 hours).

PERSONALIZED TRAINING PLAN

The Collège de l’immobilier du Québec adapts its Residential Real Estate Brokerage training according to students’ backgrounds. Some students may already have several years of professional experience under their belt. Others may have a diploma or credit courses.

Residential Real Estate Brokerage training is customizable for students who have already acquired pertinent skills. These skills must be recognized according to the policy established by the Collège.

The OACIQ’s exam takes into account language quality and the use of mathematics.

All students must take a placement test. Supplementary training is provided based on results of this test.
